Sidebar

Post by Tharkis » Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:40 am

Is there an alternative for the windows sidebar in LM13? I recently moved to LM13 and realized that I miss the sidebar. I was wondering if something existed that was similar. Something that includes gadgets would be awesome. I'm not sure that Conky really meets my needs.

Thanks all!

What you want is called a dock, searching the Software Manager for that term will give several alternatives.

Linux is not Windows. In linux as in OSX it is called a dock.

Linux isn't OSX either.. And all the docks I have seen are just application launchers, they don't have much in the way of widgets. I might just be missing something though, that's why I asked here.

Maybe you could suggest an application that might suit my needs rather than argue the semantics?
