Gdebi and external drive usb hot plug [solved]

Hey Mint gurus!

This is a baffling one for me (after searching gdebi external drives) as I have come up with nothing. Whenever I hot-plug the USB for my external drive backup, it opens the deb-install application. One partition of the drive is NTFS, another is ext4 (Winblows & Linux Back-up respectively). New behavior for this drive and the only things I have changed are: expanded the Windows partition after deleting the hard drive bloatware and have changed both the drive labels. Why the f%#k is gdebi opening up in the first place? There is no Debian package to install! After connection of the USB, I actually get two of these windows popping up, both of which I just close. Is there anything I can do to fix my system? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have been known to spend a good part of several days looking for solutions (just ask me about my dual monitor fiasco!), so if you don't know the answer, maybe you could at least point me in the rightr direction? :)

I love this distro! :D

Linux Mint Forever,
Paul

I am not sure what Desktop you are running, but in Gnome you can trying going to Settings -> Details -> Removable Media and play around with the Software settings or "Other Media..." settings.

It seems that Gdebi install opens up a lot when Linux Mint does not know what to do. The issue has now been resolved, yet I forgot what had happened to fix it.
