Problem installing Automatix

Postby GoldNugget » Sat Feb 24, 2007 4:29 pm

I upgraded to Bianca this morning. Everything works perfectly. However I am having trouble installing Automatix. I am getting this error when running apt-get update:
Failed to fetch http://www.getautomatix.com/apt/dists/e ... -en_US.bz2 Could not connect to http://www.getautomatix.com:80 (82.165.193.29). - connect (111 Connection refused)

Am I using the wrong repository or could the server be down?

Thanks!

I just tried to go to their website and it seems to be down right now. Probably why you couldn't install it.

Automatix has been down since Friday.

If you really need a codec or something from Automatix try Easy Ubuntu. Same concept and some like it better.

I have installed Easyubuntu but it does not seem to be working.

I have followed the install instructions and see that it is listed under System Tools however, when I try to launch it, nothing happens.

Any advice, or, does Easyubuntu not work with Mint?

Easy Ubuntu works in Mint, I used it this weekend :D

I used it from the command line in terminal and uninstalled it. I like Automatix better, but was in a pinch.

I have rebuild my laptop cause I screwed it up (I "upgraded" to FeistyFawn) as a lot of stuff does not work with FeistyFawn. Currently Automatix is down until who knows.

When I try to launch EasyUbuntu, I only get my password prompt and then nothing.

I'll wait until Automatix gets back on track, but it annoys me when something does not do as it says on the tin. I followed the instructions to the letter and it is "supposed" to work. During the install I got no error messages so all allegedly went smoothly.

Automatix is up and running again.

Try this easy how to, to get and install it. No command line needed :D
