issue with checkinstall

Hello,

I just installed Mint the other day and love it. I am adjusting to it and getting my usual applications installed.

One application I am trying to install at the moment is aircrack-ng. I downloaded it with svn, then I used the make command, after which I did checkinstall. This is the error I get.

Code: Select all

make[2]: Leaving directory `/root/aircrack-ng/manpages'
install -d /usr/local/share/man/man1
install: cannot change permissions of `/usr/local/share/man/man1': No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/aircrack-ng/manpages'
make: *** [install] Error 2

**** Installation failed. Aborting package creation.

Cleaning up...OK

Bye.
Can someone help me figure out what the issue here is? I have looked all over the net and found that there issues with installing aircrack-ng on debian and I found several guides on how to do it. I come to this error no matter what I do. Thanks so much!!!

J

the mint forums don't give support for such applications. see the forums rules.
