Font viewer does not run

Postby momist » Thu Feb 28, 2013 5:30 am

Does "font viewer" from the menu work for anyone else please? I'm running Mint 13 Maya amd64 and when I select "Font viewer" from Menu - Other, the hard drive rattles for a second or two and then - nothing.

I can select fonts easily enough within LibreOffice, or even inside Gimp, but choosing them is hard without the viewer working.

BTW, I tried to search the forums for this, and the search engine ignores "font" as 'too common' a word, and therefore lists every post with 'viewer', mostly about Eye of Gnome and watching football

You could try starting it from Terminal and look for errors, if any.
Cheers,

Re: Font viewer does not run [SOLVED]

Hmm, gnome-font-viewer in a terminal then asks for a font as a parameter. So, maybe it is only used when looking at a font file, and therefore of no use in the menu system at all.

I have installed fontmatrix, which seems to do what I expected of font viewer. I'll mark this solved then.
