Can't tell if Ksplice is updating in Mint 12.

Postby Lynwood » Sat Mar 02, 2013 11:06 am

I have Ksplice installed according to the Software Manager, but I don't see it listed in the Software Sources' Other Software tab and never see updates to it; I also never see the Ksplice icon in the notifications tray. Can anyone tell me how to tell what its status is and how to tell if it's updating?

I can't tell about that, updates etc, but the file is available and for additional help, checking the forums or even the Internet for the latest version available would help with the issue..

Updates are also dependent on both the Linux distributor selections and keeping up-to-date with same, as well as the application developer(programmer/author) activity/status of the project. ... 10-desktop
[list] What is Ksplice Uptrack?
Ksplice Uptrack lets you apply 100% of the important kernel security updates released by your Linux vendor without rebooting.
Ksplice Uptrack is available for Oracle Linux, free of charge, for Oracle Linux customers with a Premier support subscription. Additionally, anyone can use Ksplice Uptrack for free on Ubuntu Desktop and Fedora.
---You probably wouldn't want to use this service (costs) simply to manage updates to the kernel via Oracle..
