Howto install fonts in Linux Mint Elyssa?

Postby AirCruzer » Thu Jun 05, 2008 5:01 pm

Hello!

I have Office 2007 installed on Windows XP, and I would like to use the fonts in Linux Mint. I have all the fonts on a memory stick now, but how do I install them in Linux Mint?

That did not answer his questions. :P

To install any font you can do two things.

If you're the only one going to use the fonts you can install them on a user-basis.
Just create a folder in your home-folder and name it .fonts and copy your fonts into that folder. Then restart X (ctrl+alt+backspace). Note, restarting x will close every app you have open.

To install fonts on a system wide basis,
copy the fonts to the /usr/share/fonts/
