Eric IDE segfault after installation with Software Manager

Post by Craigulus » Tue Jul 16, 2013 2:34 pm

I am trying to install Eric python IDE using the Software Manager on Mint 15 Cinnamon. The Software Manager reports no problems with the installation, but I get a Segmentation fault (no other error messages) when I try to open it. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing with no success. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks.

I have got the same problem. An internet search led me to this bug https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10075. Could this be an issue on Linux Mint?

Hi,I have solved this problem in installing eric4 from sourceforge:

1- Download eric4 http://sourceforge.net/projects/eric-ide/files/eric4/stable/ (choose the last one)

2- Extract the archive

3- open a terminal inside the extracted folder

4- Type :

Code: Select all

sudo python install.py
5- It would works! :) (check missing dependencies if it don't)
