Fickle mintupdate

Postby sammi.sammi » Sat Jun 28, 2008 12:58 pm

Mintupdate, when in the corner, is saying something about over 100 new packages to install, given that I've JUST installed xfce daryna again.

When I double-click the icon and enter my password, it's saying 'could not refresh the list of packages'.

How do I fix this please?

The number of updates is expected - that's life :)
I guess it is an internet problem
Open a terminal and run

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update

You may get some error message "can not connect to...."
The version in Daryna - unlike the latest mintUpdate - cannot recover from that
You could comment out the failing repository by adding two # in front of the line containing it in sources.list
If you need more help please post back

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
