Can't Install / Uninstall

Postby owen_wade » Wed Oct 16, 2013 6:55 am

Started to install a Windows application into my Mint 14 system using Wine .
I was interrupted midway so I cancelled the install.
Since then I have been unable to complete the instal. It never finishes the install or says it finished but didn't actually install.
I have tried installing and uninstalling several times but can't get out of this loop.
I've tried the applications built in uninstall command plus I've tried wine's uninstall. In desperation even just threw some files into the trash.
I think if I can full uninstall it I can start from scratch and be ok.
Maybe it's not much info to go on but I'm hoping you notice something simple I've overlooked.

I was trying to install an application that has quzzes and videos from an English textbook I use.
I know it works because I installed another version of it before. I installed level 1 fine, but the trouble was when I quit the installation of level 2 midway through.

I think your idea about installing in a different location is a good one.
After I do that, can I move the file location? I want to keep things organized. (I'm a newbie.)

I don't really know how wine does to makes things works, and where files go and why.
I'm a playonlinux user, it does everything for me, I just have to tell what version of wine i want to use, and go. Everything is somehow in a "fake" windows architecture in a directory.
