I don't have a solution but have a similar problem. After I load mintbackup and attempt to select either a source or destination, mintbackup closes and does nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem and installed Lucky backup. I had no clue how to fix the problem so I headed in a totally different direction.

Hi,

I'm facing that problem, too, but no solution :-(
That's with LM16 KDE.

But it works with LM16 Cinnamon. Same mintBackup release. So I guess it must be some system lib.

Best regards,
Andreas

I have been doing this for a few years now and Lucky Backup has never failed me. It is a very user-friendly GUI for rsync. Another app that has added functionality is Conduit synchroniser but I prefer to be a "Lucky" person all the same.

luckybackup is really nice, but there is the problem that it is no longer being maintained (nothing new since 2010).
grsync works pretty much the same way as luckybackup, and it is still being maintained (new version 2013).

Grsync can be current but it really is pale when compared with Luckybackup and it lacks chron job functions. I just installed it to test it. Luckybackup may not be maintained but it is still doing its job quite well.
