Thank you for such an informative answer that didn't bring anything constructive into the discussion.

This makes no sense as old LM13 images will be around until 2017, that's 3 more years. Having updated images would make things so much easier, imagine updating LM13 after a fresh install. The size of the updates will surpass the size of the downloaded CD image. Pointless.

That is a shame because they need updating. Huge number of updates plus issues with medibuntu? source.

Basically even the image is old, only the newest updates will be installed on the first update. It is shame that Medibuntu -repo causes grey hairs specially for these people who do not know the issue. Anyway that problem is easy to resolve.

administrollaattori aside; The question still is a valid point for discussion:

Will Linux Mint 13 CD images be updated to the latest 12.04.4 revision?
All other considerations aside, the size of the initial update after the install is much larger than the install itself. For me, that is a deal breaker. I am having problems with network-manager/nm-applet, and I am now finding that I need/want it working-mainly for the wireless and 3G connections, and I might have to re-install to get it working. If I do, I am leaning towards Ubuntu LTS, rather than face that huge download required by Mint 13. I really like Mint, but the download cost is getting too high. Perhaps it is too much work for the dev to spin an updated release? I hear rumblings about Canonical considering charging for the use of their repos. If this happens, I wonder what will be the effect on how Linux Mint is supported? Lots to think about.

Just my 2 c worth in the discussion. Anyone else have some thoughts?

Regards,
Bob

One choice is to make an unofficial "daily build" version from Mint 13 ..

Certainly; linux is all about choice. That said, I believe the discussion is about an OFFICAL Mint 13 respin. Not many want to take a chance on some other. Perhaps you might like to comment on the utility of an offical respin for MOST Mint users?
