Not getting any Youtube sound in Chromium - *sometimes*

Post by KozRoss »

I'm using Linux Mint 16, on an Acer Aspire 5560G. I can't get any sound from Youtube videos, but only some of them. With the others (as well as every other application except Skype), my sound works fine. What am I doing wrong?

Not sure, but this could be an issue of your webbrowser playing videos with HTML5 video VS Flash Video. If you choose "Sound Settings', in the "Applications" tab, are there individual sound bars?

I'm not sure where 'Sound Settings' is located (I'm on Xfce), but I checked Pulse Audio, and there's definitely movement on the sound bar - just nothing out of the speakers...

Sometimes my audio gets set for the output device os SPDIF, this is usually the digital sound chanel sent rhough the HDMI port of your audio card, rather than your motherbord's sound card.
