Cinnamon IMAP email desktop notifications

Postby anothermuggle » Sun Mar 02, 2014 2:09 pm

Are there any simple, lightweight, system tray IMAP email desktop notification programs for Cinnamon?

I want something as reliable as xfce-mailwatcher plugin or unity-mail for Cinnamon.

Try "mail-notification". It is in synaptic. Works well in Cinnamon.

Thanks kyphi, that's one I haven't had the best of success with on other desktops, but I will give it a shot!

I have finally got around to installing mail-notification and it seems to be working nicely. I have two questions which I hope someone can help with.

1) Can I set gmail web client as the default email client? I only seem to be able to select Thunderbird from the Applications and Removable Media settings.

2) Can I change the icon in the system tray, to better suit the dark theme?

Thanks in advance,

EDIT: And a 3rd one, can I make the icon always visible, even with an empty inbox?
