Does this Link crash Firefox?

Post by Tejas_0 » Fri Mar 07, 2014 11:41 am

On this computer have been able to replicate the crash, Would be grateful for feedback from anyone else experiencing difficulty in scrolling Quick Start Guide. This has already occurred three times, and each time crashing Firefox has brought down the system.

No problems scrolling thru that link with FF21.

Try this:
$ firefox -safe-mode

[SOLVED] Does this Link crash Firefox?

Post by Tejas_0 » Fri Mar 07, 2014 3:46 pm

Thanks guys for feedback helping pinpoint problem. Mouse had been playing up, frequenly transmitting doubleclick when should have been singleclick. Requested help in Hardware section to disable doubleclick, but no joy :( So, for fiver got brand new LogiLink mouse as replacement. But after perusing feedback, got thinking. VLC crashed system once, thought FF instigated. However on reconsidering, brought to mind unusual behaviour of new mouse, where upon scrolling down instead of reaching bottom of page suddenly seemed to be at top of page. Noticed this a couple of times and had chalked it up to human error.

Proof of pudding in eating. Put back double-clicking mouse, linked to above problem page without trouble. Now with VLC as well, have linked to page couple of times, and the scrolling, no problem at all :!: Who would have suspected the mouse :!:
