It's for Ubuntu but it works. I using MATE so no problem.

Keylock:
The keylock indicator applet shows you whether your caps lock, num lock, or scroll lock keys are on. Use these commands to install it:

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tsbarnes/indicator-keylock
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-keylock

Thx I have already installed indicator-keylock from:

For MATE 1.8.1 Linux Mint 17 (Qiana) Desktop:

Visit the http://www.zavedil.com/mate-lock-keys-applet/ page, and Download the mate-applet-lockkeys-0.2.3.tar.gz

Open MATE Terminal:
$ tar -xvf mate-applet-lockkeys-0.2.3.tar.gz
$ cd mate-applet-lockkeys-0.2.3
$ ./configure --prefix=/usr
$ make
$ sudo make install

After Log Out / Log In, Right-Click on panel and add the Keyboard LED Indicator.

I have Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon and it worked great after a reboot.

Furthermore, I just previously installed numlockx from the Software Manager and that worked without having to do anything in terminal.

I am using a Logitech keyboard on a desktop computer. I have recently installed Linux as dual boot on a Windows computer.
Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon, MATE & Xfce. Desktop computer 16 GB RAM. Windows 11. 22" & 24" monitors.
Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon on 256 GB USB flash drive. Dell Inspiron 13-7378 laptop. 16 GB RAM. Windows 10.
