Making Deluge the default torrent downloader [SOLVED]

Post by turtlebay777 »

What I want to do is to make Deluge the default torrent downloader instead of Transmission, but when I get the choice box it tries looking in the wrong directory. I need it look in the directory that holds programs rather than 'my computer'.
Running Mint 13 Mate x32. I also have a system running LMDE, so would the solution (if someone can provide one!) also work with LMDE?

I use Deluge as my default torrent downloader. I believe your solution is to 1> open Deluge, 2> select 'Preferences' from the 'Menu', and 3> apply choices by clicking on the appropriate places you want your torrent to go (see attached screenshot).

Hope this helps...

Thanks but sorted it now.

I clicked the arrows in the box and changed it from Transmission to deluge-gtk as below.

It was in File System /usr /bin/ deluge-gtk.

Now when I click a torrent deluge opens up straight away. More useful than transmission for me because it offers File, URL, and Infohash.

PS
The solution also works exactly the same in LMDE.
