I have deleted some files/folders from my /home partition accidentally. Now how can I efficiently recover them... ?

Do a google search for ext4 undelete
I never had to do an undelete so I don't have experience with these things, but it looks to me there are plenty of possibilities,
as long as the deleted files are not overwritten by other files
The first link I saw was a tool called extundelete, it is in the repo's.

You might try installing testdisk and using the PhotoRec application to recover them.

Let's ask the obvious question first; how did you delete them?
If you simply hit the keyboard Delete key the files and folders should still be on disk in your wastebasket or Trash.
