Firefox download problems. Wont get whole file!

Postby JesterDev » Sun Oct 12, 2008 4:01 am

Recently I've been having issue with the lastest version of Firefox (3.0.3). Some files will not download all the way. For example a 4MB file will get to 129kb and firefox will decide that it's done. Some files will download entirely and
still be no good. I downloaded some 50MB rar files last night and none of them would open. A download manager did me no good with those larger files (PHP issues) so I had to use Firefox.

Anyone else having this problem? Happens on both my home and work connection.

You should be able to use wget
In a terminal
wget followed_by_the_link
Look in the Firefox forums

I'll come back to you

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

You could try to uninstall Firefox (right click on the icon in the menu) and install it again - go to the software portal
I realize that you either have to have another browser installed or the latest mintMenu - you can get it from this link
http://packages.linuxmint.com/
Not sure if you need the latest mintInstall too
