Did you install build essential (from the software portal)?

If you are not sure open Synaptic and search for it

Do the following in a terminal :
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install build-essential
to be sure you have build essential installed , then try make & make install.

Actually in Mint you only have to do
One of all little things that make Mint easier
