Google Chrome Font Rendering is.. fuzzy

Post by kaidukhanne »

Been searching for a fix for this all morning.
Google Chrome - stable (39.0.2171.95 (64-bit))
Mint 17 Quiana
Firefox and most other applications look fine.
Steam shares the same issue
Display's most web pages without problem (Google's pages not so much)
Tab titles, anything in the Chrome menu appears "fuzzy" color distortion around the edges, etc.
Makes me feel like I smeared my glasses with a thin layer of vaseline when I look at it
*Does not have the same problem if I switch users - so I gotta figure it's in my /home somewhere, but I've completely uninstalled chrome several times to no success. Deleting even /.config/google-chrome, etc.

Anyone else run into this? Did you solve it?

Thanks,
Kaidu

Figured some examples might help explain.
These are on the same install, but separate users
