update Chromium browser in Mint 13

Post by Miami592 »

Hello all. I've been happily using Mint 13 with Chromium (Version 37.0.2062.120 Built on Ubuntu 12.04, running on LinuxMint 13 (281580) (64-bit)) as my primary browser.

The other day I noticed every time I open gmail I get the message "This version of Chrome is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a supported browser. Dismiss"

Does anyone know of a way to upgrade chromium browser within Linux Mint 13?

Thanks in advance-M5

That's weird... You should get the latest Chromium (I think it's 41 by now) by means of Update Manager.

A workaround might be, to install Chrome:

...but that's a workaround. When was the last time that you installed any updates?

Chromium 37 is as high as it goes in the 13 repos.

I was hoping to stay with both 13 and Chromium.

First try another mirror server, and then refresh Update Manager.

If that doesn't help:
