[WORKAROUND] Errors galore in gnome-disk utility.

It seems gnome-disk-utility is pretty limited in what it can do for me. Half the things I try give me errors like this:
I saw in another post that installing gdisk would get rid of the errors so I installed it. I'm still getting errors.
And so on and so forth...

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
