Hi all I'm wondering how do I get Japanese text to show up in flash spaces. It shows up on websites and whenever I switch the linux menu's to Japanese but when I try to load a website requiring flash the Japanese fonts show up as blank white squares. I have even tried installing web browsers in Japanese but that didn't help, I have tried switching the web browsers default font to the one that come with the Japanese language pack and didn’t work, and I even tried reinstalling linux straight in Japanese but didn't work. So I'm wondering do I need to try another font to get Japanese to show in flash spaces or do I need to do something else?

I am using Linux mint 17.2 64 bit.

Can you provide a link to an example. Examples that Google finds me all work. And do you mean the text you type in Japanese doesn't show correctly, or the Japanese text from the program itself? Possibly this is an issue with the program specifying a specific font to be used that can't be mapped on your system.

You might try using Google Chrome as an alternative browser, which has the latest version of Flash while Firefox on Linux has a very old version that's only getting security updates.

I think I fixed it myself I basically installed every Japanese font synaptic had (got the idea off of a post in the Ubuntu forums). Anyway it was Japanese text from the program it self not showing but the weird thing is now. After installing all the fonts everything works but only if the whole computer is set to English, if I set my whole computer to be in Japanese the text is broken again. So wondering is that supposed to happen because to me that's a little odd though. I would think the the font would also be fixed when I set my whole computer in Japanese though.
