Chromium does not redraw after switching between the workspa

Post by foersu »

Hi,

when switching between the workspaces (four in my case), Chromium does not redraw completely. I see parts of other workspaces in the workspace where Chromium is opened. After swiching several times the chromium screen appears completely.
This effect has been described already here, at that time for Chrome version 35: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1309801.
In the different posts, very contradictory solution approaches are presented: enabling vs disabling HW acceleration, etc.)

Some experiences in the forum?

My configuration:
Mint Xfce 17.2 64-bit
Chromium version 45.0.2454.85 Built on Ubuntu 14.04, running on LinuxMint 17.2 (64-bit)
Graphic card: "display Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Control"

Thanx

I have noticed with hardware acceleration on I get a lot of corruption on Chrome/Chromium. Hovering the mouse over the bad spots fixes it, but very annoying. Disabling hardware acceleration fixes it, but then that causes youtube videos to tear...

I'm using the derivative SlimJet with the same problem. Turning off hardware acceleration helps but not by much.

Hello,

thank you for your answers.

I disabled the HW acceleration in Chrome and the effect disappeared completely.

Could be the faulty functioning a result of the capabilities of the hardware configuration of my notebook? It is an ACER TravelMate P TMP645-M
Probably it does not have the proper HW acceleration components?
Using the terminal command "lshw", I obtained following response regarding the graphic componenents:
