command to unlock hdd with hdparm
it was locked by parted magic. i lost power and now need to unlock it. anyone know how to? the password is just password.

hdparm is not something you want to play with until the alternative is throwing away the drive. Did you try parted magic again? They seem to have anticipated power-failures...

my intel nuc's system bios had an option to remove it and it worked.
