Old kernel showing up in Update Manager?

Post by renzor »

So, I'm on a new kernel 3.16 but in my update manager 2 level 5 updates are showing up for kernel 3.13 (i don't have 3.13 installed at all either). The only way I can see to remove them is to not get updates for kernels (so not a good option).

Does anyone know the reason for this and how to remove this?

Post installed kernel packages, open a terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -S
aptitude search "~i linux-" "~i kernel"

How did you install the 3.16 kernel?

Open Mint's Update Manager - Menu > View > Linux kernels. Does it show a 3.13 kernel as installed but not loaded ?
