Pipelight or Silverlight difficulties

Post by Alan Reynolds »

My employer insists on using the redundant Silverlight programme. During the past few years Wine Silverlight installer has enabled me to access on line forms using the Silverlight installer. This December Silverlight will not install, instead I am directed to Moonlight which has been redundant for some years. I have the latest Wine Silverlight installer and Pipelight and Pipelight Multi installed on my Linux Mint 17.1 OS.

try the version five plug-in:
https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibili ... plug-in-5x
that seems to run better, than version four, did.

Silverlight is the Microsoft version of Adobe's Flash plug-in.

both of them should be replaced by HTML5

For me pipelight works best, but it will only work with the Linux version of Firefox (no Chrome/-ium or Firefox in wine)

Install pipelight and then run the following commands:

Code: Select all

sudo pipelight-plugin --update
pipelight-plugin --enable silverlight
Then restart your browser, if it still doesn't work you might have to run

Code: Select all

sudo pipelight-plugin --create-mozilla-plugins
and / or disable the Moonlight plugin
