I am trying to understand whats happening. Some specific sites, while trying to download the site to my browser (firefox) will just lock everything up. I can move the mouse but thats it. I cant open windows, close windows, switch tabs or anything. Its like the site is cramming 101% into my 100% cpu and it just hangs the browser and computer up.
Is there anyway to throttle site from doing that or leave 20% of cpu so I can at least close the site and move on?
Some websites lockup my browser/whole comp for 20-30 seconds

Re: Some websites lockup my browser/whole comp for 20-30 sec
I have the same problem with script heavy sites in Firefox. Often when this happens, I get a notification that a script isn't running properly. When I close that script, it's back to normal until the next script comes along. I have installed NoScript in Firefox, but some of the sites I visit require the ability to run scripts. I'm thinking about trying Google Chrome and see if it's any better in Chrome. Sometimes I bring up the Run box by typing Alt-F2, then enter 'killall firefox' to shut Firefox down and restart it.
