Music/MP3 File orginization

Postby mrucci » Sat Jan 31, 2009 1:32 am

Hi everyone

I have a dual boot mint - vista system and its working out well
While I've had this setup with prior releases of Mint (also dual boot but with XP), I never really took the time to learn as much as I should.
That's changed, as I have been using mint consistently and learning as much as possible

With that said, I would like some help with file organization management in Nautilus (v2.24.1)
I know this is not windows, believe me. I am quite aware, but I did enjoy having the different columns in windows explorer with a myriad of options; Date modified - Date added - length - width - height - duration.. ect.
But the most important was for my music files. All are mp3 and so have tags. This provided information to which windows explorer used in its optional columns to help me organize my collection as I was browsing.

I would like to know if sed organization within nautilus is possible

When I would look for these options, there were some but not of which I needed.

Can anyone help me with this? Is there a way I can have columns in Nautilus that will list artist, album, and so forth? Or is there another file browser I can use in Mint that has these features?

Thanks!
