17.3 Update Manager -could not refresh (SOLVED)
Hi all, Thank you for reading.
Linux Mint 17.3 (Rosa) here. Update Manager refresh says " could not refresh the list of updates,
I tried other servers as suggested and it resulted in " apt cache is corrupt "
so I reverted to : Main: http://packages.linuxmint.com and
Base: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu
but again: could not refresh the list of updates.
My internet connection is ok !!

Re: 17.3 Update Manager -could not refresh
Open the Update Manager (left click on the icon on the panel), open "Edit", "Software Sources" (give password), "Maintenance", click on "Fix Merge List problems" and then update the cache.

This was also helpful to me. This is why I love the Linux community. There's always someone who has the same problem and someone else who knows the answer!

Finally! After reading several "Solved" threads that didn't help, this solved my problem. Thanks!

Re: 17.3 Update Manager -could not refresh (SOLVED)
EDIT: Ignore my OP, below. I went back and Updated again and it completed fine. Sorry.
OP: I got hit with this issue this morning. Tried other servers and the recommended "Fix Merge List Problems." The refresh of the cache didn't complete correctly:
