Unable to xsfer LibreOffice files between 2 computers

Post by gilloz » Fri Feb 12, 2016 11:32 am

I have two computers, desktop & laptop, with Linux Mint "Rosa" installed on both of them. I recently acquired the laptop and I am transferring some files between them. I am having a problem copying and pasting LibreOffice (odt) files between the computers. What I always get when I paste the file is basically what appears to be the source code or some kind of coding for the original content of the file. I'm using my flash drive to perform this transfer. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the file opened in writer during copying?

Thanks Cosmo for your response. Set up both computers to LibreOffice Writer program and repeated the copy and paste and it appeared to have worked fine. Not sure how I originally set it up, but this seemed to work and I thank you for your help.

If you haven't already, you may wish to install Dropbox on both machines and simply let it sync your documents.
