Hi vikar,

Assuming that your computer at work and at home are at the same level (same OS, same version) you could do it this way:
When you install an app or updates they are first downloaded to /var/cache/apt/archives
So, before you install anything I would enter the following 2 commands in a terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
These commands will remove everything from /var/cache/apt/archives
You can then install what you want. After that you can copy all the ".deb" files in /var/cache/apt/archives to a USB stick. At home copy the files from the USB stick to a separate folder on your HD. In that folder right click on an empty space and choose "Open terminal here". In the terminal enter the command:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
This will install everything in that folder, assuming your computer at work and at home are at the same level.

Hope this helps. :D

If the programs you want are already installed, do not run

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get clean

only

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get autoremove
