Would someone explain in simple terms how I can get MS Silverlight to run on Linux 17
I have recently installed Linux Mint 17.3 64 bit and have tried multiple combinations of pipelight and Wine-silverlight installer but without success.
I know Silverlight is out of date but my company insists on its use.
Do I need to install Wine or will pipelight enable silverlight alone?

Re: Silverlight
Also your company needs to recognize, that Silverlight is a dead horse. Not even the new MS browser Edge is supported.

https://www.linux.fi/wiki/Pipelight
If Pipelight does not work, simply remove pluginreg.dat file.
Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pipelight/stable
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y install pipelight-multi
pipelight-plugin --system-check
rm ~/.mozilla/firefox/*/pluginreg.dat
pipelight-plugin --create-mozilla-plugins
Code: Select all
rm ~/.mozilla/firefox/*/pluginreg.dat
