How to install Eclipse Neon

Post by Sykal » Wed Jul 20, 2016 9:38 pm

I am checking tutorials on how to install the latest version of Eclipse but they are for Ubuntu.
I found these two:
http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/201 ... ntu-14-04/

http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/201 ... -04-15-10/

It seems you pretty much run the installer after decompressing the file and then manually add the entry into the system menu. However, the cinammon menus are not in the same place. I did some research and they seem to be in either of:

/home/$USER/.config/menus/cinnamon-applications-merged

/home/$USER/.config/menus/gnome-applications-merged

... and I stopped there because I don't want to break anything and have to reinstall. Can anyone let me know how to install Eclipse's newest version and have it in my menus? Thanks in advanced.

PD: If this is the wrong forum, I'm sorry.
