Hi guys,
Just installed Mint 18 x64 and noticed that Network Manager's icon does not change when I establish a secure connection. I can provide any logs and/or command outputs needed. Can someone please help?
I did notice the icon change for about 3 seconds on the initial connection. It hasn't changed thereafter. I'm also not getting the notification of a successful connection either. I know the connection is up as my external IP does change. Anyone?

Also, when I remove the Network Manager Applet, a different network icon appears in its place. This icon does change once VPN connection is established (see attached). I tried adding re-adding Network Manager Applet again, but same symptom. Icon doesn't change.

Re: Network Manager Icon Not changing to VPN solid lock icon
I have finally figured out why the icon was never changing to VPN Solid lock icon! Nothing was ever wrong with the icon. As a matter of fact, the icon was right all along. My connection was never secure... that's why it wouldn't change.
I was not aware that my VPN Provider (IPVanish) currently does not support IPv6. So my connection was experiencing an IPv6 leak...
Temporary disabling IPv6 (whenever I use my VPN) did the trick. Now Network Manger shows the lock icon. (o:
