Re: Problems with Compiz

Does this only occur when Compiz is enabled? What version of LinuxMint are you running?

Confirm, I have this problem too :-(
Whatever I plug into USB it invokes window "Starting File Browser" mostly more then once. It hides my icons on desktop too.
It have started after some actualization a few weeks ago.

I have found something about it, but still I haven't made any progres :-(

Maybe you should rename this topic to something like "Starting File Browser problem when plug something to USB", because I think it can help to make this topic more viewed then ordinary title "problem with Compiz". I have found this topic accidentally :-)
And I hope when more people will see this topic then someone will help us ;-)

I thought I had made something wrong when I had red that links and had tried to repair it. But now I'm quite sure I have made everything I could

Mint main edition? I think this is the brasero 0.8.4/nautilus bug, nothing to do with compiz.

Choose one of these solutions:

1. Revert to Brasero 0.8.2
Go to synaptic, search for brasero.
Package>Force version - Force to 0.8.2
Packages>Lock version to stop it updating again.
2. Update to Brasero 0.9.1 (Felicia only if Elyssa is also affected)
Visit removed/app/Brasero
Choose 32 or 64 bit (Felicia = Intrepid)
Download and install both .deb files: "libbrasero-media0" and "brasero" - in that order.

That's it :D
Brasero is really responsible for this problem. I reinstalled it to 0.9.1 (from removed) and problem disappeared.
Thank you very much 8)

Thanks, I didn't realise there was a 0.9 on removed.

I've updated the solution above.
