X-Plane 10 Installer Linux nonresponsive

Post by New Mint User » Sun Aug 28, 2016 10:06 pm

Hello,

I downloaded the X-Plane 10 Installer for Linux and it is nonresponsive on my Mint 18 Mate machine. Does anyone have an explanation?

Thank you!

cd to x-plane dir and do:

ldd X-*64

If libs are missing install them (google and synaptic will help). Then do:

./X-*64

I had the same problem and solved it by going into System Settings and opening Desktop and switching Mounted Volumes to ON, this makes the drive visible on the desktop.
When you eject the first disk, use the eject symbol in files and not the button on the drive (I don't know why this works). Sometimes I had to wait a little longer than usual for the disk to spin up and on one occasion I had to eject and retry mounting the disk. (I am using Mint 17.3)
The same goes for the Installer that you download. Hope this helps.
