How to get Xlib/Xfree86 Dev. pkg.

Postby Branta » Tue Mar 17, 2009 9:29 am

Mint 6 xfce

Installing wine 1.1.16 with

Code: Select all

./tools/wineinstall
I get this error:
configure: error: X development files not found. Wine will be built
without X support, which probably isn't what you want. You will need to install
development packages of Xlib/Xfree86 at the very least.
Use the --without-x option if you really want this.

What do I do to install development packages of Xlib/Xfree86 (at the very least)?

SOLVED: How to install Wine 1.1.6

Postby Branta » Tue Mar 17, 2009 2:34 pm

I installed flex and bison from synaptic and followed these directions to install wine 1.1.6 on Mint Felicia:

Wine 1.1.6 fixed a font problem of the last release versions. It needs to be included in the next distribution.
