Some CD tracks don't show up in Nemo or Sound Juicer, but do in VLC and Banshee

Post by ScottBouch »

Hi all,

An audiobook CD I'm trying to rip has 25 tracks. VLC and Banshee show all of the tracks.

Sound Juicer (what I've been using to rip the audio CD's as it does MP3 ID3 tagging), and Nemo file explorer both only see the first 23 tracks, the last two are missing / not shown.

This is a bit of a puzzle, any ideas?

I can use Banshee to rip the last two tracks as a workaround, but it's a shame that Sound Juicer won't do it as it has for the rest.

Thanks, Scott.

Possibly this is a hidden track. Some software can handle this, others not.

Hi, thanks for the thought..

The two tracks are part of the normal story, listed in the CD inlay, I can't see a reason for them to be hidden tracks like some bands put at the end of an album..

It's still a puzzler...

I got round it by using Banshee to complete the job.

I wonder if Nemo has a limit to the number of CD tracks it can identify? Sound Juicer may rely on the same software as Nemo perhaps?

Cheers, Scott

Sounds like a decent educated guess. Sound Juicer uses CDparanoia. Try installing 'Asunder' which also uses it and see if that has the same problem.
