I do use LibreOffice but prefer the way MO Word handles bookmarks, footnotes and prefer PowerPoint to Impress.

At this point, I am more trying to figure out why MO 97 loaded fine with whatever version of Wine I was using when I had installed Cinnamon 17.1 on my machine a couple of years ago and why it fails to load now with Wine 1.6 on Cinnamon 18.1. When I need to use MO I just use one of my Windows machines.

I think that I've installed the commercial version of Wine 2.1 and the two pieces of software that loaded okay two years ago still won't load. I am working with the Wine forum to see if it is a regression problem or something with my computer.

same as with any Linux *.deb file:

click on the "Download Free Trial".

you have to give your eMail address,
but they don't seem to spam you, though.

then click on the downloaded file,
- which should now be in the 'download' folder of your machine.
give your PCs password, to continue with the installation.

then, when that is installed A.ok,
- click on the windows installation file ( setup ) on the disk,
let that installer complete it's installation.

I get the same installation error with Crossover.
