Hello,

I updated my laptop by installing a SSD drive in it and then a frech installation of Cinnamon 18.1 and when I refresh the list for themes, I get less themes available that was I was use to. I previously installed Cinnamon 18 and then update to 18.1 via the update manager. I remember having a lot more themes available back then.

Is it normal?

Thanks

This is correct and affects all Linux Mint versions. The Cinnamon Spices websites https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/ was overhauled and the way spices are developed and maintained as well. The changes and the reason for them have been explained on the blog http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3199. As a consequence of this all the existing spices had to migrated to the new development platform. Not all spices have been migrated and it won't be a given that all spices will be welcome going forward: spices they have to meet a certain level of quality. As such not all themes have migrated either as quite a few were broken, badly packaged, or extremely unpopular. The upside of this changes is that the spices that are available will be of higher quality and better maintained.
