installing LAMP in order to install package, probelms

When I explicitly follow this procedure:

when I search for my servername, I get my own computer's internal IP and long numbers (ipv6?) and I try using those, but when I try to http:// to it, it doesn't work. Are they talking about my webhost's address, and that is a number, so how do I add to that number for the individual server, which is a text name?

I am confused by that step (Apache)

I think I've gotten everything else right.
