Well, I finally converted to Linux... So far, I really love Mint 6, but as of this morning, I cant install any programs... Whenever I try(in the command line, or in the software/package managers) I get
dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
running this(as a super user, or with the sudo command) produces
I navigated to this file, and after half an hour of trying to edit it in the terminal and fix the error, I succeeded(I think... the last 'padding' was missing the 'ng' on the end). This is probably not hard, but again, I'm new to Linux. But I'm still getting the same error messages. And now I'm also gettingdpkg: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0039' near line 1:
newline in field name `#padding'
I'm at my wits end.. I'm now unable to install the correct wireless drivers(I have the atheros 5007, which is a problem in itself )Failed to run /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintInstall/mintInstall.py '/home/sharxbyte/.linuxmint/mintInstall/tmp/mintfiles/719.mint' 'sharxbyte' '/home/sharxbyte' as user root.
Any help? I really don't want to go back to Vista... But if I am required to be tethered to the wall, Or unable to install software, then there isnt much point, nomatter the superiority of the OS
