linux mint unstable (SOLVED)

Post by lyndave » Mon Apr 03, 2017 6:50 am

i have a hp printer running on my network with 2 hp laptops and a desktop. my printer was working fine, but recently i have had problems as the printer works 1 day and then not the next, although there have been no changes made. the issue is with linux mint 18.1 and this has been a problem ever since mint 18. so i guess the only solution is to say bye to mint and remove it from my 4 computers and go back to windows. this is exactly why linux will never compete with windows as it is a very unstable system and very unreliable

so yeah - better supply some more information,
as to what your Printer Model is,
& just what version of LinuxMint that you are using

BTW: if you think that using a MS Windows System - is the answer:
- then you are very much mistaken, my friend.

I'm taking my toys and going home too ! Psych, gnu/nix is friggin amazing, will stay my go to platform until the day I die and am planning to have somebody put a bunch of Nix iso's in my coffin, so I can try to take it with me. :D

Op there's no doubt a ton of perfectly workable solutions to your issues, may have to invest some time, may have to provide people willing to try to help you with info and the chance to help.

Though if you don't want to, it's entirely each person's choice.

@lyndave,
no problem--though it would be of benefit to forum members to share your solution
