[SOLVED] My start menu is defunct

Hi guys,
my Mint seems broken. Today i have noticed my Start Menu does nothing when i click it, also all my icons in taskbar near it won't do a thing. Multiplerestarts didn't fix it.
I didn't do anything prior this issue, no new software installation, no screwing around with system settings.
I have also noticed that despite the fact i can browse net using Opera and Chromium which i have as icons at desktop, my system wont update (will show updates but won't download them), also tried to run dpkg
in recovery mode but it won't connect to ubuntu servers, i wonder if it can be related.

Is there anything i can try before i engage in process of reinstall ?

Hey guys, i got it to work again.
Searched web for this problem and found thread on this forum, where user with the same issue suggests

2) under 'panel' in system settings, change 'panel layout' to flipped, and then back. Restart Cinnamon and see if that fixes.

I figured out my Win key opens Start Menu even if mouseclick doesn't, switched panel settings back and forth,
and it works now. Seems it can get "stuck" somehow.

My updates still aren't working tho, is there any issue with ubuntu servers atm ? "Connection timed out after 120000 milliseconds"
E2A: Nevermind. Finally updated. All back to normal.
