Caja hogging resources

Postby ScottBouch » Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:52 am

Struggling with running Flightgear on my machine (Mint 18.1 Mate 64bit) as running out of resources...

Top reckons Caja is consuming rather a lot of what little resource my PC has:

I don't even have a Caja window open at this point!

I tried killing it, and my desktop icons (all 3 of them) disappeared briefly, then re-appeared, and Caja was running again.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Scott.

Here (perhaps) an answer to your problem:

Not a solution yet & I don't have the problem on my Mate (yet?)

Thank you for that - it could be the issue..

I'll try to follow it's instructions later to see if my symptoms match up.

I have struggled with other things too, like using LibreCAD to open a >4mb dxf file.

When using Flightgear the graphics are very jittery, and it completely crashes Mate quite often, firstly locking up everything including mouse pointer, then taking me back to the login screen.

Cheers, Scott
