Uninstalling a program?

Post by edward1978 »

I downloaded the new protocase & after install it is not seeming to work, I start it from the shortcut, but the old version opens... So I thought maybe I have to uninstall it, can't find it in synaptic or the software center... Did the CLI Apt-get remove didn't work... So how can I uninstall it???

I looked at the download and it seems to be source code which has to be built than installed.

Try this

sudo apt-get remove protocase version

or

sudo apt-get purge protocase version [ this one will remove the old install if used]

You may like this, its version 2.76 on synaptic link below

https://www.blender.org/download/

Last email the protocase company and ask them.

if you do not find it in synaptic means it is not installed by repositories or .deb

How did you install it? Where did you download it?

Yeah, if you installed it from sources, it won't be found in the package manager.
Operating within normal parameters

you just have to delete everything you found the locate command

you should have directories in /home/user and directory/or files in /usr/local/bin and in others system directory
