LM 17.3, 64 bit, KDE
Firefox: 56.0
Chromium: Version 61.0.3163.100 (Official Build) Built on Ubuntu , running on LinuxMint 17.3 (64-bit)
I use FF and wanted to test Chromium. By mistake i made Chromium my default browser.
I went back to my old FF and made it my default browser again.
However, whenever i click a link outside FF, Chromium starts as default browser. Chromium ignores the default setting of FF.
Looking into the settings of FF and Chromium, I see that both are set as default browser.
i need Chromium to use SIGNAL Messenger as a desktop application; thus cannot uninstall Chromium.
How can I remove the default browser setting in Chromium?
Thanks for your help

Re: how to remove Chromium's default browser settings
I'm on 18.2 so I'm not sure if it's the same for you, but search in the menu for "Preferred applications" and see if you can change the default browser there.

Thanks for your helpful comments
Solution in 17.3 KDE:
Settings > Default Applications > web browser (left side menu) > default component > roll down menu and select FF > Apply => FF is again opening URLs clicked outside the FF.
