I tried to install California Calendar app In Linux Mint 18.2 Sonya using the following command: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yorba/daily-builds

I got the reply This PPA does not support XENIAL

I was trying to follow a tutorial and I don't know what went wrong.

How can I install this app?

Hi Cattleman,

Using LM 18.2 Cinnamon here and just successfully installed California Calendar from the Software Manager. Search the SM for 'California' and it's the only returned result. It's version 0.4.0 which appears to be the latest/last release - https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/California

It sounds like this tutorial is not suitable for your version of Mint. Best to use the Software Manager as your first stop; software in there is generally suitable and safe.

I forgot to say that I am using the Mate desktop. Maybe there is a compatibility problem. I installed California using Package Manager.
Software Manager shows that California is installed. Yet, I still can't see it listed on my Applications Menu.

I found it! It appears in the Office Menu. along with LibreOffice.

The irony of all this wheel spinning is that I found the Lightning Add-On for Thunderbird is a better monthly calendar and in is printable.
